The MEDICAL WELL Infection and Resistance Prevention Program consists of three parts:
A] Infection Prevention
B] Prevention of bacterial resistance to antibiotics
C] The Pledge
A] Infection prevention
The MEDICAL WELL CLINIC DRESDEN infection rate is only about 0.2% or about two
patients out of every 1,000. This rate is 10 to 30 times more favorable than in
most surgical departments in Germany. We fully healed all cases of infection
within a maximum of three weeks, and never was there an infection with a
multiresistant hospital germ. That is why MEDICAL WELL GmbH, the MEDICAL WELL CLINIC DRESDEN sponsor, can afford a promise for your health in case
of infections and gives our patients confidence in medical hygiene and
financial security. See C] The pledge.
B] Avoidance of bacterial
resistance to antibiotics
In cosmetic aesthetic surgery, the massive use of
antibiotics is every day. "So that in no case a catastrophe happens in a
<luxury surgery>."
We have been avoiding infections in partnership with
the innate (native) immune system since 1996 through a unique wound-healing
concept. It allows us to avoid antibiotics in routine surgery. To avoid one
infection, we would have to treat 500 patients with antibiotics (Number Needed
to Treat, NNT = 500), which is out of all proportion to the risks caused by
antibiotics. Besides their undeniable importance for the progress of medicine
for 90 years, antibiotics have side effects: Adverse shaping of the body's germ
flora (microbiota), nerve and tissue damage, tendon degeneration, and development
of life-threatening bacterial resistance. Every patient goes through at least
the damage to their microbiome: (Number Needed to Harm, NNH = 1). We would only
avoid a barely threatening infection in one out of about 500 patients. It is
our wound healing concept that allows the Avoidance of antibiotics.
Worldwide, people suffer from bacterial resistance. Antibiotics
can no longer help, and about as many patients died annually because of
Covid-19 in 2021, when there was no vaccination - with an increasing trend. In
Germany now (2023), more than 35,000 people die yearly because of bacterial
antibiotic resistance. We are talking about the silent pandemic. This is the
flip side of progress. Not having to use antibiotics routinely is good progress
for our patients and the community.
C] The Pledge
The pledge under the MEDICAL WELL Infection and Resistance Prevention Program applies
to free treatment for up to 4 weeks in case of an infection, provided the
condition is traceable to surgery at our clinic, and the treatment is feasible
at the MEDICAL WELL CLINIC DRESDEN. The promise
involves the necessary consultations and treatments, laboratory tests,
medication, dressings, and, if required, inpatient care at the MEDICAL WELL CLINIC DRESDEN up to a total
cost of 15,000, - €.
We are not aware of any hospital that can afford an equivalent commitment.
The MEDICAL WELL infection and resistance protection program sound
like the future of medicine. Here it has been available since the clinic's foundation
in 2002. Dr med M Meinking invented the whole wound healing concept over a
quarter of a century ago.
