It is about the effects of surgical reduction when women perceive their labia minora as too large. 

Since pubic hair is partially or entirely removed, more women are ashamed of labia that are too large or unevenly formed. Most of them know that this is not a disease.

The gentle correction under local anaesthesia produces pleasing aesthetics and a more intense sensation during sexual stimulation and arousal. Previously irritating sensations and feelings of shame due to flap-like inner labia or their inequality no longer exist.

Even though the affected women know they do not suffer from any disease, they want to have the reason for their discomfort eliminated. Clever moralists who talk about an "irrational sense of shame that they have talked themselves into" do not help.
